Press Release
Islamic Finance news Roadshow in Thailand
Expanding the Realms of Islamic Finance
The Thai Securities Commission is planning to issue a new regulation by July this year that permits both domestic and international issuances of Sukuk certificates. The country’s ministry of finance has also prepared a draft regulation to exempt the originator from land transfer taxes and registration fees, which is up for cabinet approval.
Thailand is among the latest Asian countries with a Muslim minority to attract investors with an Islamic bond issuance.
For this reason, on the 22nd June Islamic Finance news will host the first Thai IFN Roadshow at the Grand Millennium Sukhumvit Hotel in Bangkok.
Designed to generate ideas and fresh views to help practitioners develop new or alternative ways to improve their business, this roadshow aims to explore and analyze the latest developments in the Thai Islamic financial market.
This is a free-to-attend one-day event open to those with an interest in understanding more about the Islamic finance industry in Thailand and further afield.
Kesara Manchusree, Group Head Markets at the Stock Exchange of Thailand will deliver the key-note address. This will be followed by 16 key industry practitioners from around the region participating in a series of open round-table discussions.
Delegates are invited to interact via regular question and answer sessions and during the networking sessions designed to assist in the development of the participation finance market in Thailand.
Organized by the REDmoney Group, the Roadshow is visiting 16 cities across Asia, the Middle East, North America and Europe. Following this event the Roadshow will travel to India (3rd August) and Pakistan (5th August).
