FIKRAtech Roundtable: Empowering Innovation through Collaboration and Connectivity
12th June 2025
Grand Hyatt, Jakarta
About The Event
The 2025 FIKRAtech Roundtable takes a different direction from the successful London editions. The FIKRA Ace – Circle embraces market players in Malaysia and Indonesia who seek to enhance financial inclusion in their home markets as well as collaboration between markets. The roles of fintech in the promotion of the Islamic capital market industry, democratizing finance and achieving better social outcomes underpinned this strategic roundtable.
Supported by Islamic Finance news, the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and Malaysian Digital Economy Corp. (MDEC) collaborated with Indonesia’s Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) to explore regionally important themes and enhanced cooperation.
Event Agenda
- Regulatory and government support: How can regulators and government bodies support start-ups and innovation?
- Islamic capital market and social finance: How can fintech be leveraged to encourage greater innovation in Islamic social finance-based capital market products?
- AI and ESG/Social impact reporting: How can AI empower ESG and social impact data reporting?
- Cross-border expansion: How can fintech players effectively enter new markets, overcome cross-border regulatory challenges and establish international partnerships?
- Future of Islamic fintech: What will be the future trends and opportunities for Islamic fintech?
A dynamic session spotlighting the success stories of leading fintech companies as they navigate regional challenges and scale across borders.
ASEAN’s fintech ecosystems are thriving, but scaling across borders remains difficult due to fragmented regulations. In this session, leaders from Malaysia, Indonesia and the Islamic fintech space explore how national associations can play a pivotal role in bridging these gaps – facilitating dialogue, aligning standards and shaping policy that supports regional growth. We’ll discuss national strengths, the role of trust in building fintech credibility and whether frameworks like a regional fintech or Shariah passport could pave the way for a more connected, collaborative future.
