IFN ASIA FORUM 2010

Launched in 2006 under the MIF Forum banner and now in its 5^th year, the IFN 2010 Issuers & Investors Asia Forum, is recognized as the Islamic finance industry� s leading and largest annual event.

The 5th Annual IFN 2010 Issuers & Investors Asia Forum will be held from the 26^th October to 28^th October at the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur. Following the phenomenal success of the past four forums, it will draw on the experience and expertise of the industry�s elite to provide insightful, explorative and thoughtful discussion on topical areas involving Islamic finance today.

The inaugural forum, which took place in 2006, received an excellent response from the global Islamic finance industry. Since then, with over 1,000 delegates attending the event annually, the forum has developed into the industry�s largest and most influential gathering.

1,198 unique delegates from 43 countries attended in 2009. In 2010, we are expecting even more senior industry practitioners from around the world to attend.

Consisting of a series of one-day events focusing on differing aspects of the Islamic financial industry, this unique event ensures delegates only need attend one day. These four unique events accumulatively create the IFN Asia Forum.

IFN Asia Forum Chairperson: Abdulkader Thomas

President & CEO, SHAPE� Financial Corp. (www.shapefinancial.com), Consultants to the US and international financial community in matters relating to Shariah compliant financial structuring; sub-advisor to the global securities industry with respect to Sukuk and other forms of Islamic transactional issuance; and Islamic banking training resource. Training partners with Islamic Finance Training.

Abdulkader has 25 years of diversified financial services experience. A graduate of the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy in international trade, Abdulkader earned a BA with honors in Arabic & Islamic Studies from the University of Chicago.

Based in Kuwait, Abdulkader has worked in Bahrain, New York, London, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles. His areas of activity have included trade finance, real estate finance, securities, and Islamic finance at Citibank, Credit Lyonnais, Sumitomo Bank, Ltd., The United Bank of Kuwait, and MEF Money/Guidance Financial Group.

Abdulkader is responsible for shepherding the first US banking regulatory approvals of Islamic financial instruments for Ijarah wa iqtina and Murabahah. More recently Abdulkader secured regulatory approval for an Islamic profit sharing deposit to be applied in the US. Abdulkader also structured the first REIT of REITs structured to allow Muslims to invest in listed US REITs whilst complying with Shariah. Abdulkader has also been involved in the structuring of inbound foreign investment for the US, Europe, and the UK.
