NOTE-TO-EDITOR

IFN Issuers & Investors Europe Forum 2012

In a bid to diversify its economy, seek more transparent forms of financing, and increase trade and investments with the Middle East, Europe is fast opening up to the global phenomenon which is Islamic finance. Europe's growing Muslim population and established financial regulations and infrastructure are also essential elements already present in the economy to boost the growth of Islamic finance in the region.

With major financial centers such as Luxembourg and London already home to 51 Shariah compliant funds totaling US$500 million in assets, and 16 listed Sukuk issuances amounting to US$5.5 billion, there is evidence of increased market interest and participation in these sectors. We are also now witnessing GCC and Asian based financial institutions entering the European marketplace, a further sign of development and growth.

The Islamic Finance news Europe Forum 2012, which is endorsed by the UK Islamic Finance Secretariat (UKIFS) and supported by the Irish Funds Industry Association (IFIA) and the London Stock Exchange, is set to bring together industry experts and the market movers of the Islamic finance industry from all over the globe. This two-day event, held in London One Bishops Square on the 30th & 31st October 2012 will feature an Issuers day and Investors day, and will address key issues pertinent to Europe's current economic climate and follow up on the latest developments within the region's Islamic financial market; including recent governmental efforts, issuer and investor interest, potential capital market issuances, as well as tax and regulatory updates.

DATE: Tuesday 30th & Wednesday 31st October 2012

TIME: 9:00am to 5:00pm on each day (delegates/press to register between 8 to 9am)

VENUE: One Bishops Square, London

The Forum will feature prominent players from around the world, market experts and regulators to share their knowledge and expertise with the European market, which is currently experiencing a growing consciousness towards Islamic finance and its potential in drawing in GCC investors. It will explore the opportunities within the region for Islamic issuers, investors, corporate and financial institutions.

About the IFN Europe Forum

In October 2008, London hosted the first event in Europe by the REDmoney Group. Under the IFN Roadshow banner, this was a one-day event focusing primarily on the Islamic financial activities and prospects for the domestic UK market. This event ran again successfully in 2009 and 2010, when we also hosted a similar event in Paris for the French market. Following these events we were approached by numerous others in Europe to host similar events in their countries. Hence in July 2011, the inaugural IFN Europe Forum took place.
