Islamic Finance news Europe Forum 2015

One of IFN’s most anticipated events of the year, the IFN Europe Forum will bring together industry experts from all corners of the globe to discuss the region’s burgeoning Islamic finance market. Prominent players across the continent such as the UK, Luxembourg, Germany as well as up-and-coming Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States have all ramped up efforts to gain a stronger foothold in this niche sector.

With a keynote address by Pierre Gramegna, the minister of finance of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the forum will first feature a discussion on key growth markets for Islamic finance in Europe. Market leaders and key regulators will share their views on the rise of new markets and asset classes as well as provide a forecast on which mature markets are expected to continue to thrive. This is followed by a presentation on the role of Shariah funds in the global asset management industry and a session on significant trends in the European asset management arena. The first half of the day will also provide a review of the recent changes in legal and regulatory infrastructure impacting Islamic finance in Europe as well as initiatives to develop talent and human capital in Islamic finance services.

The second part of the day will see market makers across Europe providing a snapshot of rising markets in the region, followed by a dedicated session on the popular concept of crowdfunding and its potential role in the Islamic world. In the later part of the event, the forum delivers a discourse on new assets and structures in Shariah compliant capital financing as well as a discussion on socially responsible investing and the social entrepreneurship’s linkage with Islamic and ethical investing.

With a strong turnout from market players from across Europe, the forum is truly representative of the growing Islamic finance markets across the continent. With unwavering support from financial regulators in Luxembourg and a large following of the industry’s key dealmakers, the IFN Europe Forum is once again expected to have a full capacity crowd and a lively discussion of deals and transactions from this flourishing market.
